英语中动词suggset的用法

(一)suggest后面连接成分不同的用法

1.suggest 后面可以接名词作宾语

(1)She suggested an early start. 她建议早一点出发.

(2)The?thought?of?summer?suggests?swimming.

2.suggest 后面可以接动名词作宾语

(1)I suggested putting off the sports meet. 我建议将运动会延期.

(2)I suggest wearing something warm. 我建议穿暖和些。

3.suggest 后面接that作宾语从句

(1)He suggested that you should go there tomorrow.他建议你应该明天去那。

(2)We suggestedthat he (should) go and make an apology to his teacher. 我们建议他去向老师道歉.

(二)suggest 不同意思的用法

1.表示“建议”的意思，advise， propose 也有此义

We suggested a visit to the museum the next day. 我们建议明天去参观博物馆.

We advised a visit to the museum the next day.

We proposed a visit to the museum the next day.

2.表示“提出”的意思

She suggested a different plan to his boss. 她向老板提出了一个不同的计划.

3.表示“暗示、表明”的意思

Are you suggesting (that) I'm lazy? 你言下之意是说我懒?

4. 在主语从句It is suggested that... 及名词suggestion 后面表示“具体建议”的表语从句、同位语从句都应用should+动词原形,should可以省略.

His suggestion was that the debts (should) be paid off first. 他的建议是先把债务还清.

5.suggest sth (to sb) 表示“使想到，使认为，显示，表明”的意思

(1)What do these results suggest to you? 依你看，这个结果说明了什么?

(2)The symptoms suggest a minor heart attack. 这个症状表明轻微心脏病发作。
